Lakeside Heavy Equipment Ltd was formed in 1993 and primarily repaired heavy equipment; specializing in pipeline construction. Over the years, more time was spent repairing ditching equipment and being involved in major overhauls with Majestic, Banister, O.J., Marine and Spie.

In 2002, owner Jay Cridland was offered a distributorship from Tesmec, USA Inc. to sell and service their equipment. By 2005, after successfully selling seven units, Jay had the opportunity to utilize the ‘Rocksaw’ to work in the Alberta Rocky Mountains to showcase the trenching abilities in regards to the environment and wildlife minimal impact. And in 2006, Jay Cridland began doing what he liked best - using the trenching equipment!

Utilizing a team of experienced and dedicated staff, our company has cut rock all across Canada, USA, and North Africa and is a member in good standing as well as a registered contractor with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955.

We are able to work next to sensitive underground utilities, watertables, buildings and wildlife without disturbance unlike blasting. Continually, we have collected unique information on teeth application versus type of rock and specialize in backfilling techniques, padding and shading of the pipeline using spill from the trencher; eliminating expensive sand padding, foam, gunite, rockshield etc. from our business partners bottom line. Furthermore, employing our trenching equipment and methods provide significant savings in clean-up costs, and the overall quality of the finished clean-up will be higher due to the lack of boulders that never seem to fit back where they came from.
